Hooray! The new NSW early childhood menu planning guides have dropped.

The new NSW childcare menu planning guides have just been released. So: what’s changed, and how can you make your menu transition easy?

The NSW Menu Planning Guides are finally available! It has been a long wait for all you NSW early childhood service cooks, menu planners and menu reviewers out there. I promise you, the wait has been worth it.

I was involved in the development of the new guidelines over many years - from the initial working group through to reviewing the many versions. So, I am particularly thrilled to see them ready to use.

The menu planning guides replace the Caring for Children menu planning guides and are integral to the Munch & Move program.

The new menu planning guides provide:

  • clearer definitions of what non-core (occasional) foods can be served on the menu and how often they can be served

  • simpler guidelines for protein-rich and iron-rich foods

  • more information on vegetarian meal planning

  • and lots more

The new NSW Menu Planning Guides are a welcome update. But if you want to make the changeover stress-free, then please contact me to see how I can help.

I have years of experience in reviewing and planning early childhood service menus as well as providing education and training for childcare cooks and menu planners.

Apart from our economical Nourishing Early Childcare Bundle, I can also offer specific activities to suit your early childhood service’s needs:

  • childcare menu planning

  • childcare menu reviews

  • menu planning education and training

  • other nutrition-related staff and parent education

From a service with many sites across NSW? Don’t worry, I can provide multi-site support. Get in touch.

Happy menu planning!

Katie
